Children at Seoul Foreign School (SFS), Korea International School (KIS) and the Humphreys school on the US Army base in Pyeongtaek take lessons at Confidence Ski in the same way as every other student.
We have a dedicated English-speaking instructor, so your child can learn in English.
Lessons are 1:1 by default, or 1:2 for siblings or two friends whose level and temperament match.
We send video of every lesson the same day, and grades and race results stay with your child as a ski activity record.

Can my child take lessons in English?

Yes.
We have a dedicated English-speaking instructor who teaches lessons in English.
Many of our students come from SFS, KIS and the Humphreys school.
Lessons are for ages 4 to 18, so we teach everyone from young elementary students to high schoolers.
The lesson content and the way we run each lesson are the same whichever school your child attends.

How many children are in one lesson?

One instructor teaches one child in a 1:1 lesson, and that is our default.
Siblings or two close friends can take a 1:2 lesson when their level and temperament match.
The instructor sets the pace by how your child is doing that day.
A child who is new to skiing starts by learning to turn in the first lesson.
You can read more about how lessons work on the lesson information page.

If I can't be at the resort, how do I know how my child did?

We film every lesson and send you the video that same day.
As the videos build up, you can compare them with earlier lessons and see at home how far your child has come.

What can grades and race results be used for?

A KSIA junior technical grade and race results remain as an activity record that shows what your child achieved over a season.
Our director, Lee Sang-hyuk, is a judge for the KSIA junior technical grade system, so your child can be assessed during academy lessons.
Children aged 7 to 17 can take the assessment.
For races, an instructor is with your child from preparation through race day.
A seventh grader from Seoul Foreign School and a seventh grader from Humphreys Middle School took 2nd place at the Chuncheon Ski Association President's Cup.
How these records are considered in school or university applications differs by school, so please check with your child's school directly.
Grade levels and age limits are listed on the Race page.

Which ski resorts are lessons held at during the season?

From opening until mid-February, lessons are held at Gangchon and Jisan.
From mid-February to the end of February, lessons move to Yongpyong, Welli Hilli and Alpensia, and the Japan camp runs from early March.
You can check the dates for each period on the Season page and in the season roadmap post.

Can I send my child to the resort without a parent?

Yes.
The academy shuttle picks your child up at your front door and brings them back home after the lesson.
An instructor rides along both ways.
We will tell you during the consultation whether your home is within the shuttle range and what the shuttle costs.

How do I book a consultation?

Send us a request through the contact page or KakaoTalk.
Once we receive it, we send you the lesson schedule and information materials.
Let us know your child's age, school grade, ski experience and preferred dates, and we can get back to you faster.
